Carriers of Love Letters

A year ago the artist Yuli Shumarev took us "OUT OF TIME" and shared
with us the secrets of "fishermen and mermaids". He showed us "The
Ports of the Soul." He also told us "What Angels Dream"…
"Carriers of Love Letters" shattered the boundaries of reality and
brought us messages that we will find in Yuli Shumarev's solo
exhibition "Carriers of Love Letters" which opened on April 06, 2011
in White Zone art gallery.
The author says: "This exhibition is a sentimental journey back in
time when people still wrote letters. The name for the exhibition
came while I was going through 100 years old photographs and
postcards. Words and images have faded with time but their hidden
inner strength had remained intact. I was looking at the eyes and
handwriting of people long gone and was overwhelmed again by that
sense of interconnectedness with time so typical for Plovdiv.
Today nobody writes love letters.
A letter on paper can tell us everything. It carries the loved one's
fragrance, keeps the warmth of the hand that wrote it. The true love
letter can be a verse, a melody, a song, a picture...
But the instrument which creates it is only one – the soul.
I want each and every one of my paintings to be a love letter..."
